The new year is here and its a time when many of us start thinking about what we want to accomplish in the new year, myself included. The indulgences are over and it’s time to get back on track in doing something good for yourself and others.
Step 1: Start Small. One of the most popular goals is to lose weight. Instead of focusing on your ideal weight which could be 40 pounds less, try breaking it down into increments. Losing 5 pounds by the end of January is totally realistic! If that was easy for you may try 8 pounds in February. 1-2 pounds per week is the healthiest way to go.
Step 2: Write the down. You are more likely to reach you goals if you write them on a piece of paper. I suggest getting a marker, writing it big and posting the paper where you are going to see it every day. It you start noticing it less, move the paper to another spot.
Step 3: Tell Someone. Telling your friends and family about your goals will make you more accountable. You can even ask them to support you by telling them to check in with you weekly to ask how your progress is going. You may even find that you have similar goals and go at it as a team. Or write it in your blog or post it on your facebook!
That’s it! Have a happy new year and good luck!
